Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anuwat Sit Hrun! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christopher Ryan! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sit Hrun has his takedown stuffed so Ryan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Ryan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ryan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ryan is looking to work some ground and pound but Sit Hrun has wrist control. Sit Hrun looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ryan wants to pass the guard but Sit Hrun is keeping the position. Ryan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Sit Hrun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Christopher Ryan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Sit Hrun looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Sit Hrun slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ryan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ryan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sit Hrun gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ryan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryan is looking for a triangle but Sit Hrun pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryan is being controlled here. Ryan tries to bench press Sit Hrun off him but Sit Hrun keeps the position. You can see the frustration on Ryan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ryan regains half guard. Ryan trying to hold on to Sit Hrun's head to control him but Sit Hrun postures up.
Ryan is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Ryan dominated that round. That's time! Sit Hrun's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sit Hrun fails with the takedown and Ryan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sit Hrun's guard. Ryan postures up in Sit Hrun's guard and throws a big left but Sit Hrun blocks it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ryan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ryan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ryan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sit Hrun's guard. Sit Hrun is looking for a sweep. Ryan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sit Hrun trying to control here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sit Hrun wants to get back to full guard. Ryan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sit Hrun sees it coming and defends easily. Ryan wants to take a breather but Sit Hrun is having none of it. Ryan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sit Hrun is just riding it out for now. Ryan eventually gives up the hold. Ryan missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ryan wants to take a breather but Sit Hrun is having none of it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ryan wants to free his trapped foot but Sit Hrun is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ryan is looking for a kimura but Sit Hrun is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ryan to get the leverage. Sit Hrun is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Ryan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sit Hrun keeps working. Ryan content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryan trying to control from half guard but Sit Hrun is working away. Ryan missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ryan is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryan drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ryan seems to have locked his on tight now - Sit Hrun screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ryan, as he picks up the win!
