Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Durandin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramazan Ramazanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Durandin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Durandin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ramazan Ramazanov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Durandin is trying to break free.
Ramazanov is trying to force a seperation but Durandin has the dominant position.

Durandin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ramazanov pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Durandin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ramazanov on his heels. He'll look to pass Ramazanov's guard now, I'm sure.
Ramazanov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Ramazanov pushes Durandin off and gets back to his feet.
Alex Durandin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Durandin shoots in and bounces Ramazanov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ramazanov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Durandin is controlling him.

Ramazanov wants to get back to his feet but Durandin passes into half guard.
Ramazanov is looking to escape.
Ramazanov is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Durandin is controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Alex Durandin just wasn't active enough.
Ramazanov throws a right hand that Durandin ducks under and follows up with a left that Durandin also avoids with ease.
Ramazanov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Durandin is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ramazanov.
No joy there for Ramazanov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Durandin shoots in and drives through. Ramazanov sprawls well.

Durandin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ramazanov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ramazanov looks gassed!

Durandin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Durandin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ramazanov is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Durandin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Durandin throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Ramazanov because Durandin loaded up on that one.
Durandin trying to control but he's not successful this time.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Durandin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ramazanov enables Durandin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ramazanov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Horrible takedown by Durandin or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramazanov which made him look bad.
The fight stays on the outside here - Durandin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Durandin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ramazanov tries to avoid it but Durandin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ramazanov to the ground. Ramazanov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Durandin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Durandin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ramazanov is trying to defend but Durandin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Ramazan Ramazanov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ramazanov lands a head kick. Durandin smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ramazanov lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Ramazanov throws a sloppy head kick and Durandin moves out of range easily.
Ramazanov connects with the punch.
Ramazanov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sloppy strikes from Ramazanov. Those never looked like landing.
Ramazanov is breathing heavily.
Durandin has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Ramazan Ramazanov seems to be getting the better of the standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Durandin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Durandin showed some decent athleticism there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Durandin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ramazanov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ramazan Ramazanov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Durandin slips under a jab.
Durandin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ramazanov swivels and escapes.
Ramazanov lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ramazanov.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ramazanov.

Durandin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ramazanov looks like he's trying to stand up.
Durandin scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Ramazanov is not content to let Durandin control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramazanov is looking to escape.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Alex Durandin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Durandin has closed the distance and engaged Ramazanov in a clinch.

Durandin turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Ramazanov is not content to let Durandin control the position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alex Durandin.
