Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Math R (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hopkins comes to the cage accompanied by Testament- Return To Serenity. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Hopkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Math R! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but R moves away. R misses with a left hand and Hopkins counters with a nice double leg into side control. R won't be happy with that. Hopkins landing a few strikes. R parries the strikes from Hopkins easily there. Hopkins is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable R to escape.
Hopkins in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. R regains half guard, as Hopkins was trying to land strikes. R is trying to stand.
Hopkins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. R doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hopkins. Hopkins thows a huge punch but R dodges it nicely.
Hopkins thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. R blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hopkins. R pushes Hopkins off looking to stand but Hopkins dives back in and keeps control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if R can do anything to dispel that myth. R on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Hopkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. R is defending against the submission attempts here by Hopkins.
Hopkins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hopkins working over R with some ground and pound. R looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Hopkins not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hopkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hopkins prevents R from standing back up.

R avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hopkins. Hopkins has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can R defend it? Hopkins steps over the head and cranks it - R is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hopkins!
