Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Pieru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Duscaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duscaw has chosen "I am the Walrus" by The Beatles as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pieru looks to land a right hand but Duscaw moved out of range.
Duscaw walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
George Pieru seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Duscaw counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pieru won't be happy with that.
Duscaw is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pieru is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Check out the look on Duscaw's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Duscaw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Duscaw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Duscaw jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pieru walks away with a smile on his face. Duscaw gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pieru scores with a nice strike.
Pieru moves in looking to clinch but Duscaw pushes him off.

Duscaw can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pieru is looking to escape.
Pieru is in a horrible position here. Duscaw smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
