Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drake Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ajax Anstice! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anstice tries a head kick but it misses.
Anstice misses with a double jab.
Ajax Anstice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rogers takes a jab right on the kisser.
Anstice fails with an attempt to clinch.
Anstice throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Rogers. Anstice really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rogers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rogers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Anstice has escaped the position, nice work there. Rogers is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Anstice is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Anstice is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Rogers tries for a kimura but Anstice is defending well. Anstice wants to get back to his feet but Rogers drags him back down. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rogers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Anstice is trying to buck Rogers off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers decides to stand back up. Rogers steps back and let's Anstice get back to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rogers. Rogers is breathing heavily. Rogers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anstice sprawls well initially but Rogers persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogers is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Anstice tries to kick Rogers off but Rogers keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Rogers is working for a kimura but Anstice is defending it quite comfortably.
Anstice is trying to stand back up but Rogers is controlling him
Rogers decides to return to a standing position. Rogers drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rogers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Anstice has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anstice prevents Rogers from improving position. Check out the look on Rogers's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Rogers wants to control but Anstice is keeping him busy. Rogers cracks Anstice with a big elbow. Anstice pushes Rogers away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rogers gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Rogers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anstice, who protects the arm well. Anstice is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Rogers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Anstice knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Anstice is not content to let Rogers control the position. Anstice gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers wants to finish this one by submission but Anstice is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rogers. Anstice is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Both fighters are looking very determined. Rogers is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Rogers has got his arm under Anstice's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Anstice has spun round into Rogers's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Rogers tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Anstice wants to stand but Rogers has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Rogers is looking for a triangle but Anstice pushes his legs off easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Anstice won't allow Rogers to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Drake Rogers dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rogers darts in and clinches Anstice up against the cage. Anstice wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Anstice has had enough of the clinch but Rogers keeps him there for the moment. Rogers comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Rogers just leaning against Anstice, taking a breather. Anstice is trying to break the clinch but Rogers has him pressed against the cage. Anstice wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rogers wants a takedown.
Rogers has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Anstice regains guard immediately. Rogers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Anstice is keeping the position for now. Rogers gets to his feet - Anstice follows without any prompting. Rogers misses with a takedown attempt - Anstice sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Anstice keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drake Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Anstice works over Rogers's head and body with a nice combination. Rogers closes the distance and clinches up with Anstice, looking for a takedown. Rogers pushes Anstice against the cage but Anstice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rogers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anstice's waist but Anstice gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rogers off to one side. Anstice pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rogers pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Anstice tumbling to the mat - Rogers dives into Anstice's guard. Rogers wants to control from the top but Anstice keeps moving. Rogers passes Anstice's left leg - he's now in half guard. Rogers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anstice keeps working. Anstice pushes Rogers off looking to stand but Rogers dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Anstice closes the distance and lands a one-two.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Anstice fails to land with a series of punches.

Rogers dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Rogers is pressing down on Anstice's thigh, looking to free his foot. Anstice is holding on for now. Rogers in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Anstice tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap!
