Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dolph Fredriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saku Sammakko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Fredriksson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to He-Man Theme and Yelling . Sammakko has chosen Saku Sammakko as his entrance music. Dolph Fredriksson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Saku Sammakko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Fredriksson misses its intended target.
Sammakko misses with a takedown
and Fredriksson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fredriksson looks to score with a jab to the body but Sammakko is just out of range.

Sammakko gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sammakko tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Sammakko drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fredriksson lands with a left to the head.

Fredriksson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fredriksson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sammakko.
Fredriksson leaves Sammakko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dolph Fredriksson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saku Sammakko.
Fredriksson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sammakko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Fredriksson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Sammakko has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fredriksson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Sammakko is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

and Sammakko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fredriksson's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fredriksson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dolph Fredriksson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Fredriksson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sammakko manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fredriksson throws a combination. Sammakko tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Sammakko tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fredriksson smiles and moves away.

and Sammakko counters with a good, hard body kick but Fredriksson shrugs it off.
Fredriksson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Sammakko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fredriksson sprawls well initially but Sammakko persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fredriksson tries to roll over but Sammakko keeps him under control.
Sammakko tries to pass to full mount but Fredriksson defends it.

Sammakko working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fredriksson's head.
Sammakko makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Sammakko has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fredriksson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sammakko.

Sammakko is looking to regain half guard here but Fredriksson keeps moving and retains side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dolph Fredriksson will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Fredriksson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fredriksson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sammakko!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dolph Fredriksson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fredriksson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
