The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goku misses with a double jab
and Carolina counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carolina gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Goku counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A head kick lands from Carolina that sends Goku to the canvas. Goku tries to scramble back to his feet but Carolina brings him back down into side control.
Goku is rocked!
It looks like Son Goku has been cut.
Carolina wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Goku , who protects the arm well.
Goku is still in real trouble! Can Carolina finish him?
Carolina thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Carolina throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Goku counters with a nice uppercut.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Carolina shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Goku as he jumps to the side.
Goku connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Carolina momentarily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Carolina counters with a two punch combo.
No luck for Carolina with that takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Carolina or perhaps it was just good defense by Goku which made him look bad.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Son Goku has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Larissa Carolina is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carolina, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
