Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Castilano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Lytle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lytle has chosen Light's Out as his entrance music. Christopher Lytle has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Castilano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christopher Lytle!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castilano misses with a left hand

and Lytle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Castilano's guard.
Lytle wants to control from the top but Castilano keeps moving.

Castilano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lytle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lytle wants to pass the guard but Castilano is keeping the position.
Castilano is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lytle with a flurry of punches that miss.

Castilano had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lytle defends it easily.
Lytle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Castilano is proving hard to escape from.
Lytle preventing the sweep.
Lytle wants to control from the top but Castilano keeps moving.
Castilano can't keep his opponent in guard - Lytle advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lytle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Castilano is just riding it out for now. Lytle eventually gives up the hold.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lytle is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Castilano defends it well.
Castilano wants to control but Lytle is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Castilano looking for submissions off his back.

Lytle is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Castilano is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lytle tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Castilano.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lytle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Castilano trying to hold on to Lytle's head to control him but Lytle postures up.

Lytle decides to stand and escape the position.
Lytle uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Castilano.
Castilano shoots in but no luck this time.
Castilano throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Castilano misses with a right hand

and Lytle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Castilano trying to keep a closed guard but Lytle is proving a slippery customer.
Lytle preventing the sweep.
Castilano pulls Lytle in close to prevent any damage.

Lytle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lytle wants to stand but Castilano is controlling his posture from full guard.
Lytle wants to stand and escape but instead Castilano has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Lytle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Castilano trying to control but Lytle is working from the bottom.
Castilano pushes down on Lytle's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lytle is looking to improve his position.
Castilano thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lytle's head.
Castilano thows a huge punch but Lytle dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Castilano lands a nice short elbow.

Lytle looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Castilano passes to full mount!
Castilano fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Lytle tries to reverse the position but Castilano maintains control.
Castilano lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Lytle in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Castilano has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lytle's face.
Castilano avoids the attempt from Lytle to control.
Castilano can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lytle is looking to escape.
Lytle can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lytle really wants to buck Castilano off and get back to his feet.

Lytle has left one of his arms exposed and Castilano doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Lytle screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Luke Castilano!
