PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roger Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Marsden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Storm!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsden ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Storm moves away.

Storm closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Storm tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Storm has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Marsden is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Storm off and has taken his back!

Marsden is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Storm defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Storm just trying to survive but Marsden is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Marsden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Storm slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Marsden working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Storm doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Storm manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Marsden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Marsden fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Storm drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Storm as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Marsden screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Storm! Nice submission victory there!
