PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Sabrol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Gregorivich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sabrol's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Snap Your Fingers Snap Your Neck. Gregorivich has chosen The Pot as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Ricardo Sabrol has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ricardo Sabrol seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Sabrol!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Victor Gregorivich!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gregorivich misses the shot to the body.
Sabrol throws a nice looking combination but Gregorivich bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gregorivich is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gregorivich throws a head kick that misses.
Sabrol slips a straight right by Gregorivich.
Gregorivich walks forward, straight into a front kick from Sabrol.
Gregorivich tries to clinch up but Sabrol circles away and keeps his distance.
Gregorivich smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Sabrol wants to clinch up but Gregorivich keeps it at a distance.
Some wild striking there from Gregorivich.
Gregorivich avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gregorivich avoids the head kick by Sabrol.
Gregorivich tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gregorivich looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sabrol is looking to clinch but Gregorivich is avoiding it.

Sabrol tries to keep at a distance but Gregorivich has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gregorivich is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Gregorivich is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sabrol can't fight it off and eventually Gregorivich manages to take the fight to the floor. Sabrol looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sabrol has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gregorivich can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gregorivich is looking to work some ground and pound but Sabrol has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gregorivich tries to free his leg and advance position but Sabrol is retaining full guard.

Sabrol had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gregorivich is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sabrol Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gregorivich's back instead.

Sabrol is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Gregorivich covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Sabrol throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Sabrol is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Gregorivich defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Will Sabrol go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Gregorivich manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sabrol's guard. Nice work there by Gregorivich.

Gregorivich avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sabrol manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gregorivich manages to get himself to full guard.
Sabrol is breathing heavily.

Gregorivich looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sabrol has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gregorivich escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sabrol gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gregorivich working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sabrol doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sabrol manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sabrol with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Gregorivich has his foot on Sabrol's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sabrol works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sabrol looking to sit in guard and control but Gregorivich gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sabrol has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gregorivich should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sabrol has tightened it up now! Gregorivich should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ricardo Sabrol!
