Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mark Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Crone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander comes to the cage accompanied by whigfield-saturday night. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Alexander! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Crone! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crone with a lazy takedown attempt and Alexander counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Ryan Crone has been cut. Alexander shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Crone manages to escape and get back to his feet! Alexander moves into the clinch. Alexander lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Crone backwards. Alexander successfully pulls guard.
Alexander pulls Crone in to control the position. Crone trying to control the position from guard on top but Alexander is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alexander tries to strike from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crone passes Alexander's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Crone thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Alexander's head. Crone trying to pass the guard but Alexander defending well. Alexander is looking for a sweep. Crone is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Crone decides to stand and escape the position. Alexander lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Crone circles away quickly and effectively. Alexander tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alexander somewhat. Alexander circles away from the clinch attempt and Alexander counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Crone! Alexander is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexander postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Crone looks a forlorn figure.
Crone taking shots to the head. Alexander lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Crone hang on? Alexander lands a heavy elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Crone tries to hold on but Alexander pushes him away. Alexander looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Crone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Crone wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Crone tries to lock up and control but Alexander gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crone trying desperately to get to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Crone is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A nice elbow there by Alexander. Crone slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Crone wants to get back to his feet. Crone is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alexander scores with a couple of nice shots. Alexander lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Crone is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alexander scores with a couple of nice shots. Alexander lands strikes from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crone is trying to stand up here but Alexander is controlling him well. Crone taking some punishment here, with Alexander in his half guard. Alexander working Crone over with strikes. Alexander knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Crone on the ground. Alexander winds up and cracks Crone with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Alexander wants to pass to mount but Crone is defending the position. Crone is staying active underneath Alexander, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Alexander takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Crone moves into full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alexander is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Alexander tries to stand but Crone is controlling from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Alexander dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ryan Crone's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Crone misses with a takedown and Alexander holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Crone wants a takedown but no success here.
Alexander breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Crone throws a sloppy head kick and Alexander moves out of range easily. Crone gets caught flat footed, as Alexander shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Alexander cracks Crone with a solid left hand. Alexander scoring with some ground and pound. Crone striking off his back but it's not causing Alexander any problems. Crone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alexander gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alexander lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Alexander might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crone wants to stand and escape but Alexander is having none of it. Alexander gets to his feet. Crone looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Crone wants to land a leg kick but Alexander is out of range. Crone with a lazy takedown attempt and Alexander counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Mark Alexander has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Crone. Alexander breaks the clinch.
Alexander scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Crone has hold of Alexander's hands but Alexander slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Alexander sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Crone defending well though. Crone is trying to stand.
Crone is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Alexander's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Alexander's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexander prevents Crone from getting a body triangle. Alexander is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Crone is not going to allow Alexander to sit and survive in this position. Crone is riding his opponent, not letting Alexander buck him off. Crone is persistently looking for the submission but Alexander is defending it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alexander trying to get back to his feet but Crone is in full control for now. Will Crone go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Despite being in a bad position, Alexander is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Crone is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Alexander has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Alexander covering up well under a series of strikes from Crone. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Crone's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander throws a combination that misses and Crone counters with a nice low kick that buckles Alexander's knee momentarily. Alexander misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Crone doesn't manage to clinch there - Alexander circles away.
Crone closes the distance looking to clinch and Alexander counters with a straight punch to the midsection. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crone throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Alexander's head. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Crone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alexander's waist but Alexander gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Crone off to one side. Crone closes the distance but Alexander moves to the side and Alexander counters with a shoot takedown. Crone fights it but they end up in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexander chips away with some ground and pound. Alexander stopping the sweep attempt from Crone. Alexander would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Alexander pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crone is keeping the position for now. Alexander is looking to work some ground and pound but Crone has wrist control. Crone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alexander's guard. Alexander wants to get back to his feet but Crone is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Crone sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alexander's guard. Alexander is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Alexander looking for subs from the bottom but Crone mounts him! Alexander is squirming around, avoiding Crone's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alexander is looking to improve his position but Crone isn't that keen on the idea. Alexander wants to hold on but Crone pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Alexander is squirming around, avoiding Crone's attempts to control the action. Alexander is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Crone trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Alexander. Well Alexander has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
