Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Angry Angus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Franchise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franchise has chosen I Don't Like Mondays- The Boomtown Rats as his entrance music. Angry Angus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stevie Franchise!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Franchise. Those never looked like landing.
Franchise thows a body shot but no joy.
Franchise lunges at Angus with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Angus's hand.

Angus slips under a jab from Franchise.

Franchise throws out a loose jab but Angus uses good head movement to avoid it.
Franchise tests Angus's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Franchise cracks Angus with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Franchise closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Angus did well to prevent Franchise getting side control.

Franchise goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Angus turns into him and now he's in Franchise's guard.

Franchise cracks Angus with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Franchise swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Angus is now in Franchise's guard. A big mistake from Franchise there, giving up the dominant position!

Franchise is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Angus can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Angus is desperately trying to improve his position but Franchise has a good base and remains in mount.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Franchise is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Angus to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Angus shrugs it off.

Franchise is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Angus has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Angus!
Angus seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Franchise has his foot on Angus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Angus works his way back into a safe position though.

Stevie Franchise dominated that fourth round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Franchise lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Angus circles away quickly and effectively.
Angus goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Angus misses with a lunging right hand
and Franchise counters with a left and a right that stings Angus.
Franchise takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Franchise changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Angus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Angus is not content to let Franchise control the position.

Franchise is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Angus is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Franchise is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

Franchise trying to control the action but Angus is working from the bottom.

Franchise looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Angus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Franchise wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Franchise thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Franchise goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Angus has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Franchise but great work by Angus.

Angus is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Franchise knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Franchise parries the strikes from Angus easily there. Angus is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Franchise to escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Franchise is on top in guard.
Angry Angus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stevie Franchise is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Franchise has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
