Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anko Hidetaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dan Spackman! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spackman checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hidetaka tries a head kick but it misses.
Dan Spackman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheers as Spackman lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hidetaka doesn't seem phased though. Hidetaka misses with a straight right. Spackman looks to land a combination. Hidetaka sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Hidetaka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A head kick by Hidetaka misses and Spackman counters with a two punch combo.
Hidetaka is rocked! Hidetaka lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Spackman scores with a jab to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Spackman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hidetaka looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spackman scores with a couple of short elbows. Hidetaka stops Spackman from passing to mount. Spackman takes a little break here. Hidetaka wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Spackman is putting a hurting on Hidetaka here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spackman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Spackman looks up at the clock and then as Hidetaka takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Spackman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Spackman decides to stand back up. Spackman steps back and let's Hidetaka get back to his feet. Spackman closes the distance and lands a one-two. Oh Hidetaka is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Spackman throws a sloppy head kick and Hidetaka counters with a head kick. Hidetaka seems to have got his legs back now. Spackman shoots in for a double leg but Hidetaka sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hidetaka misses with a shot to the body and Spackman counters with a nice uppercut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hidetaka takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Spackman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Spackman lands a nice hook to Hidetaka's body. Hidetaka takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Hidetaka tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spackman paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hidetaka tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hidetaka is breathing heavily. Hidetaka looks for a takedown but Spackman sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spackman rushes Hidetaka and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Spackman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Spackman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hidetaka gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Spackman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Spackman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Spackman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hidetaka uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Spackman.

Spackman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hidetaka sprawls well. Hidetaka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Spackman gets slowly back to his feet. and Hidetaka counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Spackman is lucky that one didn't land flush. Spackman stalks Hidetaka and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hidetaka's face. Hidetaka staggers backwards, shaken. Hidetaka misses with a head kick.

Spackman is pressing down on Hidetaka's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hidetaka is holding on for now. Spackman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hidetaka keeps working. Hidetaka wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Spackman sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Spackman closes the distance and clinches. Spackman looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A frustrated look appears on Hidetaka's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hidetaka is trying to push Spackman away but Spackman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Spackman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hidetaka just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hidetaka is trying to force a seperation but Spackman has the dominant position. Hidetaka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hidetaka pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Spackman is working the combinations to good effect here. Spackman looks to land a combination but Hidetaka avoids it well. Jab by Spackman. Hidetaka throws a lazy head kick and Spackman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sloppy strikes from Spackman. Those never looked like landing. Hidetaka lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Hidetaka misses with a head kick.

And that's the end of the fight! Dan Spackman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Spackman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
