Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Caio Terra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitsuyo Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caio Terra has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caio Terra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mitsuyo Maeda!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Terra misses.
Maeda throws a hook to the side of Terra's head but Terra sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Terra thows a body shot but no joy.
Maeda avoids the body shot from Terra.

Terra misses the shot to the body.
Terra throws a body punch but Maeda moves out of range.
Terra throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Maeda counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Maeda.
Maeda lands a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Maeda passes into half guard.
Terra is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maeda pulls his head out easily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maeda connects with a nice short shot to Terra's temple.
Maeda is looking for a kimura here.
Terra makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Terra.

Maeda tries to free his leg and advance position but Terra is retaining full guard.
Maeda must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Terra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Maeda is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Terra wants to sweep but no luck.

Terra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maeda can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Maeda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Terra. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maeda postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Terra bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maeda's guard.
Terra drops back, looking for a kneebar! Maeda looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Maeda looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Maeda!

Terra tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Terra gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Maeda prevents Terra from improving his position.
Maeda is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Maeda is looking to advance position but Terra won't allow it.
Maeda seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Terra manages to get to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Caio Terra dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Terra doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Maeda counters with a series of strikes. Terra will be more careful next time no doubt.
Maeda closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Terra's guard.
Maeda drops back looking for a leg! Terra is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Terra manages to kick Maeda off! Maeda jumps back into Terra's guard.
Terra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maeda doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maeda manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Maeda passes Terra's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Maeda wants to take a breather but Terra is having none of it.

Caio Terra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
