Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Led Zeppelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ace Ventura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zeppelin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to One 24. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Led Zeppelin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ace Ventura!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zeppelin doesn't manage to clinch there - Ventura circles away.
Zeppelin throws a body kick, spinning off balance
enabling Ventura to counter with a crisp jab.
Ventura lands a body shot.
Zeppelin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zeppelin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zeppelin throws a lazy body kick
and Ventura counters with a lovely shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ventura misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Zeppelin swings for the body but Ventura moves out of range.
Ventura slips a jab from Zeppelin.
Zeppelin moves out of range as Ventura strikes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A head kick misses from Zeppelin.

and Ventura counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Zeppelin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Zeppelin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ventura wants to get back to full guard.
Zeppelin controlling the pace.
Ventura tries to get to full guard but Zeppelin has control of the leg.
Ventura is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Ventura tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ventura is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ventura is stalling here. Zeppelin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ventura seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Zeppelin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Zeppelin tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Zeppelin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ventura counters with a straight right hand.
Ventura looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ventura looks to throw the jab but Zeppelin is out of range.
Led Zeppelin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ventura throws a predictable looking body shot
and Zeppelin counters with a nice uppercut.
Zeppelin thows a leg kick but Ventura checks it

and Ventura counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Zeppelin!
Zeppelin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Zeppelin trying to get back to full guard but Ventura takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Ventura throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Zeppelin because Ventura loaded up on that one.
Zeppelin is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ventura wants to control the action but instead Zeppelin gets a body lock and reverses into Ventura's guard! Nice work!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Zeppelin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We're going to have a standup here because Led Zeppelin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Zeppelin leaves Ventura with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Zeppelin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

and Ventura counters with a single leg into guard. Zeppelin didn't expect that.

Zeppelin wants to stand and escape but Ventura is having none of it.

and Zeppelin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Led Zeppelin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ace Ventura.

Led Zeppelin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Ventura counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

That's time! Zeppelin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ventura throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ventura shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zeppelin but Zeppelin pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ventura is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Zeppelin.

A looping hook to the body misses from Zeppelin. Ventura does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ventura tries to score a power double leg takedown but Zeppelin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ventura somewhat.

Ventura shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zeppelin sprawls well. Zeppelin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ventura gets slowly back to his feet.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zeppelin regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ventura.
Ventura won't allow Zeppelin to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ace Ventura comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ventura has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
