Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Puno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gundar Thorsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Puno might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fidel Entry Song. Thorsen has chosen Thunder struck- ACDC as his entrance music. Fidel Puno has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorsen is looking to clinch but Puno is avoiding it.

Gundar Thorsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Puno tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thorsen was well out of range. Poor timing from Puno.

Puno bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Puno pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Puno wants to control the action but instead Thorsen gets a body lock and reverses into Puno's guard! Nice work!

Puno takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Thorsen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Thorsen swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Thorsen has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

A low kick from Thorsen is predictable there
and Puno counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Puno turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Thorsen is breathing heavily.
Puno throws a leg kick which misses Thorsen's front leg but catches the back leg as Thorsen tries to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Puno fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thorsen.
Thorsen slaps away a takedown attempt from Puno, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Thorsen takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Puno counters with a nice body kick.

Thorsen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Puno is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Thorsen can do to turn this around?

Puno lands with a right and another and another! Thorsen is in big trouble! Puno lands again and this time it's lights out for Thorsen! A quality knockout there for Puno.
