Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vern Te Hiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hell Raiser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Te Hiko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Raiser misses with a few strikes there.
Raiser swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Te Hiko circles away from the clinch attempt
and Te Hiko counters with a nice low kick that buckles Raiser's knee momentarily.
Raiser misses with a looping right.
Raiser fails with the takedown
and Te Hiko makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Raiser tries to clinch up
and Te Hiko counters with a flying knee. Nice.

and Te Hiko counters with a nice leg kick.
Raiser misses with a wild combination.

Raiser shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Te Hiko is trying to defend but Raiser finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

A punch lands to the side of Raiser 's head but he takes it in his stride.

and Te Hiko counters with a nice leg kick.

Te Hiko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Raiser.

Raiser slips under a jab from Te Hiko.
Raiser moves to clinch but Te Hiko breaks away
and Raiser takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Te Hiko counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Te Hiko takes a swing at Raiser's ribcage but misses.

Raiser shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A nice inside leg kick there by Te Hiko. That's going to slow Raiser down.
Te Hiko looks to land a body kick but Raiser moved away.
Te Hiko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Te Hiko lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Te Hiko just misses with a punch to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Raiser, right into the meat.
Raiser tries to clinch but Te Hiko moves away
and Te Hiko counters with a nice body kick.
Raiser doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Te Hiko counters with a series of strikes. Raiser will be more careful next time no doubt.

Raiser shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Te Hiko counters with a nice body kick.
Crunch! Te Hiko slams his shin into Raiser's torso.
Raiser steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Te Hiko.
Te Hiko blocks a head kick by Raiser.
Te Hiko lands a jab to Raiser's midsection.
Raiser chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Te Hiko can pounce on him.

Te Hiko tried to score with a low kick but Raiser checks it.

Te Hiko throws a sloppy body shot
and Raiser counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Te Hiko is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Raiser doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Te Hiko makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Te Hiko misses with a wild body shot.
Raiser gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Te Hiko counters with a nice low kick that buckles Raiser's knee momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vern Te Hiko dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Te Hiko has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Raiser wants to clinch but Te Hiko slips to the side
and Te Hiko counters with a good, hard body kick but Raiser shrugs it off.

letting Te Hiko counter with a right hand.

and Te Hiko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Raiser takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Raiser shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Te Hiko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Te Hiko cracks Raiser with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Hell Raiser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Raiser stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Te Hiko.
A looping hook to the body misses from Te Hiko. Raiser does a little dance to reset his feet.
Te Hiko throws a head kick that misses.
Raiser throws a sloppy head kick and Te Hiko moves out of range easily.

and Te Hiko counters with a nice body kick.
Vern Te Hiko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Raiser staying out of range there.
Raiser tries for a takedown but Te Hiko circles away easily
and Te Hiko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Raiser has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Te Hiko.
Raiser tries to clinch up
and Te Hiko counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Raiser checks a leg kick.

Raiser shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Te Hiko squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Raiser tries to control but Te Hiko wriggling away.
Raiser throwing strikes but Te Hiko bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Raiser throws a big right hand that misses.
Raiser tries to free his leg and advance position but Te Hiko is retaining full guard.
Raiser looking to sit in guard and control but Te Hiko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Te Hiko won't allow Raiser to sweep him here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vern Te Hiko showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Te Hiko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
