Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Quert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob Quert struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 172.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Matt Hanson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Hanson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Quert! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quert closes the distance and pushes Hanson back into the cage. Quert looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Hanson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hanson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hanson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Quert on the ground. Hanson escapes and gets back to his feet. Hanson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Quert is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hanson controlling the action here. Hanson wants to work for an arm triangle but Quert is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hanson in particular looking to stall. Hanson working over Quert with some ground and pound. Quert looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Hanson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Quert knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Hanson is working hard here to advance position.
Matt Hanson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Hanson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Quert's guard. Hanson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Quert has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hanson has managed to get both his arms back between Quert's legs - danger averted. Hanson working some strikes from top position. Hanson gets to his feet. Quert looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A looping hook to the body misses from Hanson. Quert does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hanson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Quert manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Quert looking for a guillotine here but Hanson defends easily.
Hanson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hanson forces his way into half guard. Hanson passes the guard and advances to mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanson has hold of Quert's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Quert manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Quert tries to reverse the position but Hanson maintains control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quert is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Hanson looking to control and managing it successfully. Hanson looking for a guillotine from mount but Quert is having none of it. Hanson with the ground and pound from mount. Quert regains half guard. Hanson not doing much here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hanson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Quert makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Quert. Quert throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hanson uses it to pass to side control.
Quert is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Quert is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hanson is one step ahead and moves to full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Hanson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hanson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Hanson stands up and beckons Quert to join him on the feet. Hanson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hanson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Quert fails in his attempt to clinch. Quert fails with the takedown and Hanson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Quert working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hanson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hanson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Quert looking for a guillotine here but Hanson defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hanson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Quert keeping full guard, as Hanson tries to pass. Quert is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hanson defends well. Hanson distracts Quert with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quert is looking for a triangle but Hanson pushes his legs off easily.
Hanson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Quert had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hanson defends it easily. Quert looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Quert escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hanson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hanson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hanson working some strikes from top position. Quert has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hanson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Quert has tightened it up now! Hanson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
