Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Bosh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kip Pur ! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pur fails with the takedown and Bosh counters with a nice uppercut. Bosh has Pur up against the cage in a clinch.
Bosh gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Pur is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bosh throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pur keeping moving, preventing Bosh from controlling successfully. Bosh trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pur looking for a sweep. Not yet Pur , not yet. Bosh trying to control but Pur is working from the bottom. Bosh is looking to work some ground and pound but Pur has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bosh is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pur is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pur has escaped and now he's on top! Pur wants to control from the top but Bosh keeps moving. Pur forces his way into half guard. Bosh is looking to improve his position.
Pur is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bosh is looking to control Pur 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bosh avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pur looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pur wants to pass the guard but Bosh is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pur passes to full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bosh wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Pur .
Pur pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Pur is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Bosh is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Bosh flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Pur anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Bosh and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Pur slips an arm under Bosh chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Pur has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Pur is squeezing on Bosh like an anaconda would it's prey. Bosh fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
