Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Odin Valknut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nero Sabu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valknut comes to the cage accompanied by Hail Odin. Sabu has chosen The Enemy as his entrance music. Odin Valknut is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Odin Valknut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nero Sabu!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabu fails with the takedown
and Valknut counters with a nice body shot.
Good exchange - Valknut coming out on top.
Sabu misses with a takedown attempt
and Valknut counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sabu thinking.
Sabu checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Valknut counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Valknut.
Odin Valknut has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nero Sabu.

Sabu is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Valknut lands a right hand that snaps the head of Sabu backwards.

A right hook to the body lands for Valknut.
Valknut makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Valknut digs a right hand underneath Sabu's ribcage. Sabu let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Valknut lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Valknut putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Sabu in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Valknut works on Sabu's body with a couple of short punches.

Valknut connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Valknut closes the distance and pushes Sabu back into the cage.

Valknut's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Valknut fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sabu looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Valknut cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Odin Valknut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valknut clinches up with Sabu and pushes him back against the cage.
Valknut pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Valknut counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Valknut.
Valknut lands a hook to the side of the head.
Valknut escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Odin Valknut is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Valknut throws a low kick, looking for Sabu's leg but Sabu calmly moves out of range.
Valknut tries to work over Sabu's front leg with a kick but Sabu checks it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Valknut swings widly with a right hand
and Sabu decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Valknut's guard.
Valknut wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Sabu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sabu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sabu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sabu has gone for a leg lock! Valknut slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sabu's guard.
Valknut stands up and waves to Sabu to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Valknut bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Sabu tries to keep at a distance but Valknut has taken the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Odin Valknut dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Sabu tries for a takedown but Valknut circles away easily
and Valknut counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Valknut moves into range and clinches up with Sabu.

Valknut lands with a left to the head.
Valknut throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
A short body shot lands from Valknut as the two fighters clinch.
Valknut scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Valknut lands a body punch in the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Valknut.
Valknut lands a nice uppercut.
Valknut is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sabu is defending well for now.
Valknut pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sabu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Valknut lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The fighters circle momentarily. Valknut darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Valknut connects with a right hand. Sabu shakes it off.
Sabu misses with a takedown attempt
and Valknut counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Sabu drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A short body shot lands from Valknut as the two fighters clinch.
Valknut breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Valknut motions for Sabu to come forward. Valknut throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Valknut lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sabu at a distance.
Valknut drives through and clinches with Sabu against the cage.
Odin Valknut is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Sabu has Valknut pressed against the cage, preventing Valknut from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Valknut gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sabu.
Valknut prevents a takedown attempt there.
Valknut lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sabu backwards.
And that's the end of the fight!
Odin Valknut showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Valknut, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
