PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandar Ostojic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes into the arena with Judas Priest -Painkiller blaring out of the sound system. Ostojic has chosen Wild Boys as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andy James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aleksandar Ostojic!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James staying out of range there.

Ostojic connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

It looks like Aleksandar Ostojic has been cut.

James on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ostojic stalks James and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into James's face. James staggers backwards, shaken.
Ostojic lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.
Ostojic tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Ostojic.
Andy James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Ostojic counters with a good, hard body kick but James shrugs it off.
James is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
That kick from Ostojic tenderised James's leg. James is trying to keep his angry face on.
James's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ostojic connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! James scrambles back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andy James.
I think Ostojic has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
