Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francisco Gomez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Diaz! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Diaz's guard. Gomez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Diaz trying to control the position.
Gomez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gomez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gomez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gomez has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gomez stays in close to Diaz's body and controls the position. Diaz can't keep his opponent in guard - Gomez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Gomez moves nicely into side control. Diaz is not content to let Gomez control the position. Diaz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz wants to control but Gomez postures up. Gomez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Diaz down.
Gomez tries to advance to mount but Diaz denies him. Diaz struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gomez is staying tight to Diaz's torso, preventing him from escaping. Diaz keeping his opponent close. A lull in the action here as Gomez stalls from top position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gomez rushes Diaz and presses him up against the cage. Diaz has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gomez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Gomez stalling against the cage.

Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gomez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Gomez wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Francisco Gomez wasn't doing enough on the ground. Gomez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Diaz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Gomez is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gomez showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Diaz looking to control.
Diaz is working an open guard so Gomez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Diaz shoots and misses and Gomez counters with a single leg into guard. Diaz didn't expect that. Francisco Gomez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Diaz. Diaz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gomez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Diaz is proving hard to escape from. Diaz looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Francisco Gomez dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown so Gomez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gomez wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position. Diaz is trying to control the position but Gomez postures up. Gomez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! Francisco Gomez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Diaz is adopting a defensive guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Nate Diaz hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Diaz with a lazy takedown attempt and Gomez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gomez.

Gomez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Diaz looking to control.
Diaz is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Gomez has his hands clasped together but Diaz extends an breaks Gomez's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Diaz.
