Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tenno McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCoy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Body Head Anthem. Jay Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tenno McCoy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tenno McCoy! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jay Jones! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones takes a swing at McCoy's ribcage but misses. McCoy throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McCoy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.
Jones cracks McCoy with a right hand to the side of the head. Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. McCoy is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily. Jones wants to pass to mount but McCoy is defending the position. McCoy manages to get to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looking to sit in guard and control but McCoy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McCoy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones has McCoy pulled in close to control his posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jones wants to get back to his feet but McCoy is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jones throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. McCoy keeps the fight on the outside. Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jones looks gassed! Jones shoots for a takedown but McCoy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jones throws a head kick but McCoy moves out of range.
McCoy fails in his attempt to clinch. McCoy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard. Jones pulls McCoy in close to his closed guard and prevents McCoy from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCoy stops Jones from standing up. McCoy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jones wants to sweep but no luck. McCoy is fighting to break Jones's control of his arms but Jones is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Jones looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Jones dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McCoy clinches but Jones breaks the clinch and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McCoy's guard. McCoy keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. McCoy looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jay Jones just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jones lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Jones shoots in and bounces McCoy off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Jones is breathing heavily. Jones trying to control but McCoy is working from the bottom. Jones pushes down on McCoy's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to take a breather but McCoy is having none of it. Jones seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
McCoy wants to get back to full guard. Jones trying to control from McCoy's half guard. McCoy has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Jones wants to stand and escape but instead McCoy has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. McCoy pushing down on Jones's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jones gets full guard. Jones is trying to keep McCoy in close.
McCoy preventing the sweep. McCoy stops Jones from standing up. Jones lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McCoy! Jones trying to control but McCoy is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

McCoy gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Jones stopping the sweep attempt from McCoy. Jones trying to control but McCoy is working from the bottom. Jones looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones wanted to stand there but McCoy had control of the position. Jones pushes down on McCoy's leg and manages to get into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McCoy defends it well. Jones stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows McCoy to get to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. McCoy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones. McCoy has a takedown stuffed. Jones misses with a takedown and McCoy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jones wants to control the position but McCoy says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Jones wants to get back to full guard but McCoy has mounted him! Jones tries to lock up and control but McCoy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. McCoy manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jones to take his back! Jones manages to reverse the position and now he's in McCoy's guard. Nice work there by Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones gets to his feet - McCoy follows without any prompting. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. McCoy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back! McCoy is trying to stick to Jones's back but Jones is turning into McCoy. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in McCoy's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jones.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones lying in McCoy's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. McCoy decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Jones taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
