Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hickson Tiger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Santiago! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santiago will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Santiago throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Santiago throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tiger counters with a lovely straight right hand! Santiago lands with an uppercut that bounces Tiger off the cage and back into rage. Tiger showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Santiago.
Tiger thows a body shot but no joy. Santiago lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tiger circles away quickly and effectively. Santiago fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Santiago feints a jab promting Tiger to slip. Santiago then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Tiger slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Santiago looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tiger is fending him off so far but Santiago persists. Nope, Tiger circles away and we're back to standing. Hickson Tiger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Santiago. Tiger leaves Santiago with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. An inside leg kick from Tiger misses. Whack! Tiger lands a heavy head kick that drops Santiago. The ref tackles Tiger to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Santiago was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Hickson Tiger!
