Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Jan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Totoy Bato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jan comes to the cage accompanied by Judgment night by Biohazard&Onyx. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Totoy Bato enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, John Jan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Totoy Bato!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bato lands the left hand.
Jan moves out of range as Bato strikes.
Bato lands a nice shot to the body.
John Jan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bato takes a swing at Jan's ribcage but misses.
Jan connects with a crisp jab.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jan.
Jan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bato counters with a nice uppercut.
Bato checks a low kick from Jan.

Jan wants to slow Bato down by chopping away at his legs.
Bato blocks a head kick by Jan.
Jan fails with the takedown.
Bato stuffs the takedown attempt from Jan. Jan gets slowly back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bato throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bato's knee momentarily.
Bato avoids the head kick by Jan.
A punch lands to the side of Jan 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Bato throws a predictable looking body shot
and Jan counters with a low kick, right behind Bato 's knee.
Jan lands an overhand right.

Jan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The strikes coming from Jan are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Bato is not content to let Jan control the position.
Bato is trying to escape the position but Jan is controlling the position.
Jan throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Bato parries the strikes from Jan easily there. Jan is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bato to escape.
Jan tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jan in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Bato seems a little lost for a moment, as Jan dominates the positioning.

Bato is looking to regain half guard here but Jan keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jan in side control lands a decent elbow.
Bato takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Bato has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jan.

Jan motions for Bato to come forward. Jan throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and Jan makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Jan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bato utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bato is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Jan just wasn't active enough.

Jan has a takedown stuffed.
John Jan is winning the standup battle so far.
Jan shoots in looking for a takedown. Bato tries to sprawl out of it but Jan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bato manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bato stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jan.
Jan misses with a body punch
and Bato counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jan wants to slow Bato down by chopping away at his legs.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bato checks a leg kick.

Bato throws an overhand right that lands on Jan's shoulder, as Jan tries to avoid the shot.
Jan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bato.
Bato ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jan moves away.

Jan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Jan dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jan dives in and grabs Bato's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bato pushes down on Jan's head and hops out.
Bato throws a lazy uppercut
and Jan counters with a slapping leg kick.
Jan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Jan feints and then cracks Bato's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bato down.

Bato checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Jan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bato. That did some damage!

and Jan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bato!
Jan throwing strikes here but Bato is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
John Jan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bato avoids a strike by Jan and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Jan's guard! Fantastic escape!

Jan throws a low kick, looking for Bato's leg but Bato calmly moves out of range.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bato's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Jan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bato but Bato pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Jan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bato's head.

and Bato connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that John Jan will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well Jan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
