Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rusty Trombone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Mimsy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trombone kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Back in Black by AC/DC. Mimsy has chosen Dropkick Murphys - Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trombone throws a right and a left that Mimsy avoids nicely.
Trombone moves out of range of the strikes.
Trombone falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mimsy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Trombone tries to clinch there but Mimsy circles away.
Trombone swings widly with a right hand
and Mimsy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Trombone!
Trombone wants to control but Mimsy is having none of it.
Trombone is trying desperately to improve position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trombone looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Trombone has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mimsy's face.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mimsy is squirming around, avoiding Trombone's attempts to control the action.

Mimsy takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Trombone moves to clinch but Mimsy breaks away
and Trombone takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A low kick from Trombone is predictable there
and Mimsy counters by moving into the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Mimsy.
A head punch on the inside from Trombone fails to land.
Trombone pushes Mimsy back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Trombone is leaning against Mimsy and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Mimsy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Trombone avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

and Mimsy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Trombone's guard now.

Mimsy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Trombone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rusty Trombone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mimsy wants to pass the guard but Trombone is keeping the position.
Mimsy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Trombone not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mimsy is in a horrible position here. Trombone smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Trombone can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mimsy is looking to escape.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

That kick from Mimsy tenderised Trombone's leg. Trombone is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mimsy thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Trombone if he has to take too many more of those.
A left lands for Mimsy.
Trombone misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mimsy jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
