Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alpha Dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liha Piirakka!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dog scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Dog is trying to work for a kimura but Piirakka is defending well.
Dog passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Piirakka!

Dog is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Piirakka to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Piirakka shrugs it off.

Dog is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Piirakka has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Piirakka is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Piirakka has given up his back. Will we see Dog going for some submissions?

Dog is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Piirakka is defending well though. Dog let's go of the attempt for now.
Piirakka wants to escape the position.
Piirakka is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Dog off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Piirakka tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Piirakka is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Piirakka defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Dog.

Dog goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Piirakka turns into him and now he's in Dog's guard.
Piirakka wants to control from the top but Dog keeps moving.
Dog might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dog utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dog is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Piirakka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dog works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Piirakka must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dog had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Piirakka defends it easily.

Piirakka drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Piirakka jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Piirakka thows a big elbow that misses.
Dog keeping moving, preventing Piirakka from controlling successfully.

Piirakka wants to pass the guard but Dog is keeping the position.

Liha Piirakka has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A cross from Piirakka lands.
Dog swings for the body but Piirakka moves out of range.
Piirakka with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Piirakka throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Piirakka tries to score with a low kick but Dog moves his leg out of the way.
Sloppy strikes from Piirakka. Those never looked like landing.
Piirakka's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Piirakka duly obliges.
Piirakka looks gassed!
Dog stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Piirakka.

Dog shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Dog is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Piirakka defends it well.

Dog is trying to work for a kimura but Piirakka is defending well.

Piirakka is defending against the submission attempts here by Dog.

Dog maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Piirakka could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Dog has cracked it and Piirakka is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Dog!
