Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Haris Mavridis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasaki Yoshida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshida has chosen J-Pop Drop as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Haris Mavridis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sasaki Yoshida!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mavridis has his takedown stuffed
and Yoshida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Yoshida closes the distance and pushes Mavridis back into the cage.
Yoshida drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mavridis pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mavridis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Yoshida is looking to get to half guard.
Mavridis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mavridis has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Yoshida's face.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mavridis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Haris Mavridis has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Yoshida looks for a takedown but Mavridis sprawls well.
Mavridis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mavridis has Yoshida pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Yoshida manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Yoshida misses with a knee to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Yoshida is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mavridis gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Mavridis is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Yoshida's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ground and pound from Mavridis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Yoshida shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mavridis sprawls well. Mavridis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Yoshida gets slowly back to his feet.

Yoshida fails to pull guard.
Mavridis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mavridis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mavridis wants to stand and escape but Yoshida is having none of it.

Yoshida wants to control from the top but Mavridis keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mavridis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yoshida!

Mavridis has control of Yoshida's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yoshida regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Yoshida is looking to improve his position but Mavridis isn't that keen on the idea.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Mavridis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yoshida circles away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Yoshida tries for a takedown but Mavridis circles away easily
and Mavridis counters by moving into the clinch.
Mavridis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mavridis misses with a takedown attempt - Yoshida sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Haris Mavridis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Yoshida counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mavridis is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Mavridis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
