PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brick Fist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rocky Balboa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brick Fist!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa throws a sloppy head kick and Fist moves out of range easily.
Balboa will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Balboa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fist manages to avoid it.
Fist misses with a left hand
and Balboa counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Brick Fist has been cut.
Fist fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Fist throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Balboa takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fist looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Fist shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Balboa is trying to defend but Fist finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Fist thows a huge punch but Balboa dodges it nicely.
Fist moves nicely into side control.
Fist controls the position.
Balboa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fist on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balboa is trying to control Fist's posture but Fist avoids it.

Fist thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fist taking a breather here.
Let's hope that Fist has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Fist misses with the ground and pound.
Fist slows the pace down.
Balboa parries the strikes from Fist easily there. Fist is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Balboa to escape.
Fist has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Fist content just to control the position here.

Fist is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Balboa is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Balboa flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Fist anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Balboa and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Fist slips an arm under Balboa chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Fist has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Fist is squeezing on Balboa like an anaconda would it's prey. Balboa fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Brick Fist!
