Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Kelo.
Kelo throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Smith lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Smith scores with a nice right hand.
Kelo tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range.
Smith lands with a shot to the body.
Kelo rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kelo will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Smith up against the cage.
Smith tries to circle away but Kelo has him pinned against the cage.
Kelo tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kelo lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Smith has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kelo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kelo goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Kelo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.

Kelo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smith wants to control from the top but Kelo keeps moving.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kelo keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Clarence Kelo just wasn't active enough.
Smith leaves Kelo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Kelo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smith won't be happy with that.

Kelo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Smith for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Smith wants to control but Kelo postures up.

and Kelo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kelo, as that shot connected.
Anvil Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kelo swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Clarence Kelo.
Well Kelo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
