Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Marciano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Ferdinand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marciano comes to the cage accompanied by Succesful. Bob Ferdinand has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick Marciano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Ferdinand!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Marciano.


It looks like Bob Ferdinand has been cut.
Ferdinand stuffs the takedown.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marciano ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ferdinand moves away.

and Marciano takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Ferdinand drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ferdinand is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ferdinand sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Marciano's guard.

Ferdinand is pressing down on Marciano's thigh, looking to free his foot. Marciano is holding on for now.

Ferdinand is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marciano defends it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Marciano has one foot on Ferdinand's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

and Ferdinand counters with a nice double leg into side control. Marciano won't be happy with that.

Ferdinand thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ferdinand swings around for an armbar but Marciano sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ferdinand's guard.

Marciano slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ferdinand working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marciano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marciano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Marciano is looking to work some ground and pound but Ferdinand has wrist control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Marciano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ferdinand has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marciano has managed to get both his arms back between Ferdinand's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Ferdinand gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ferdinand has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marciano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Marciano has his foot on Ferdinand's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ferdinand works his way back into a safe position though.

Ferdinand is working to tighten is grip on Marciano's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Marciano has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ferdinand is really squeezing tight and eventually Marciano passes out! Ferdinand breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Bob Ferdinand!
