The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balasubas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Green.

Green darts in and clinches Balasubas up against the cage.
Green prevents a takedown attempt there.

Balasubas decides to pull guard.
Balasubas pulls Green in close to his closed guard and prevents Green from doing any damage or advancing position.
Balasubas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Green drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Balasubas gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Balasubas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Balasubas breaks from the clinch.

Balasubas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Green manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Green on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Green tries to get out of the position.
Balasubas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Balasubas pushes down on Green's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Green could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Balasubas is controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Green has hold of Balasubas's hands but Balasubas slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Green is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Balasubas pulls his head out easily.
Green is breathing heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Balasubas stands up and beckons Green to his feet.

Balasubas has taken the fight to the clinch.
Green lands an elbow just above Balasubas 's eye.

Balasubas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Green doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Balasubas counters with a stiff right hand.

Green misses with a takedown attempt
and Balasubas counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Balasubas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Green sprawls well. Green wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Balasubas gets slowly back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Balasubas.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Green.

Balasubas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Balasubas is pushing down on Green's leg trying to pass to half guard. Green is fighting to maintain full guard but Balasubas has managed to sneak the leg through.

Green wants to stand back up but Balasubas manages to pass into side control.
