Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, rolf sneider!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martin Con!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
sneider throws a series of punches but Con moves out of range.

Con unloads with some shots from mount but sneider bucks and avoids them well.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

sneider is really struggling to find his range with his punches. sneider's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Con closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Con lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
sneider tries to clinch but Con moves out of range.

sneider throws a hook but Con avoids it easily.
sneider waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Con.
sneider fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Con manages to avoid it.

Con feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

sneider throws a nice looking combination but Con bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Con changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. sneider looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Con thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

sneider is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Con has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Con working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


sneider's corner calls for a 1-2. sneider obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Con looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Con needs to keep his hands up - sneider had a free shot at his head there.

Con is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But sneider has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from sneider!
Con takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

sneider stands and steps away. Con gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Con fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. sneider sprawls well initially but Con persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Con not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Con throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! sneider escapes and throws Con's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Con moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

A close third round but Martin Con just about did enough to take it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
