Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Knut Krauthans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Svend Torken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krauthans comes to the cage accompanied by Bonanzarad. Torken is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen. Knut Krauthans has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Knut Krauthans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Svend Torken!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Torken fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Krauthans sprawls well initially but Torken persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krauthans looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Krauthans preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Torken wants to pass to mount but Krauthans is defending the position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Krauthans slips a jab and a cross from Torken.

Krauthans throws a series of strikes that have Torken backpedaling.
Torken connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Krauthans's hands.

A looping hook to the body misses from Krauthans. Torken does a little dance to reset his feet.
Torken takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Torken counters with a shoot takedown. Krauthans fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Krauthans manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Krauthans wants to finish this one by submission but Torken is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Krauthans.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Krauthans controlling the pace for now.
Krauthans tries to control but Torken wriggling away.
Torken wants to control but Krauthans is having none of it.
Torken really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Krauthans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Krauthans gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Torken counters with a nice body shot.

Torken shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Krauthans napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Torken is looking to take a break and control but Krauthans is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Krauthans tries to roll over but Torken keeps him under control.

Torken must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Krauthans is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Torken accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Torken drops back, looking for a kneebar! Krauthans looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Krauthans looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Krauthans!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Torken tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Krauthans wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Krauthans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Torken keeps working.
Krauthans misses with the ground and pound.
Torken wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Torken is trying to control Krauthans's posture but Krauthans avoids it.
Torken is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Krauthans off and has taken his back!

Krauthans covers up after that shot from Torken.
Krauthans breaks Torken's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Torken wants to stand and escape but Krauthans is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Svend Torken showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krauthans is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Torken's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Torken's back!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Krauthans has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Torken defend it? Krauthans steps over the head and cranks it - Torken is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Krauthans!
