The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawler misses with a two punch combination.
Sergei Kharitonov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lawler throws a series of punches but Kharitonov moves out of range.

The fighters circle momentarily. Lawler darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kharitonov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Lawler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kharitonov was well out of range. Poor timing from Lawler.

Lawler rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kharitonov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lawler lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lawler stalks Kharitonov and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kharitonov's face. Kharitonov staggers backwards, shaken.

and Lawler counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Kharitonov is rocked!

and Lawler counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Kharitonov to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Lawler!
