The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Damn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Hoost shoots for a takedown but Van Damn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hoost is trying desperately to land a takedown but Van Damn is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Hoost.

It looks like Ernesto Hoost has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hoost has a closed guard, preventing Van Damn from standing up.
Van Damn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hoost has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Van Damn has managed to get both his arms back between Hoost's legs - danger averted.
