Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Munoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munoz tries to clinch up
and Hunt counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Munoz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hunt scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Munoz with a lazy takedown attempt
and Hunt counters with a thumping low kick.
Hunt is looking to slow Munoz down with leg kicks.
Munoz looks to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Hunt chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Munoz tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hunt counters with an outside leg kick.
Munoz doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hunt counters with a good low kick that Munoz was not able to check.

Hunt fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Munoz.
Munoz is breathing heavily.
Munoz doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hunt counters with an inside leg kick.
Munoz takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hunt throws a quick inside leg kick.
Munoz sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Munoz looks to clinch

and Hunt counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hunt tries to stand and escape but Munoz is controlling the position.
Hunt is pressing down on Munoz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Munoz is holding on for now.
Hunt is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Hunt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Munoz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hunt missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Hunt wants to free his trapped foot but Munoz is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hunt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Munoz is staying active underneath Hunt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hunt postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Munoz to stand up.

Hunt fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Munoz.
Hunt lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Hunt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Hunt stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Hunt throws a leg kick which misses Munoz's front leg but catches the back leg as Munoz tries to avoid it.

and Hunt makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Munoz really felt that one!
Hunt scores with a spinning back kick!

Hunt shoots in and bounces Munoz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hunt decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Munoz is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

and Hunt counters with a low kick, right behind Munoz 's knee.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hunt closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunt uses his free foot to push down on Munoz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Munoz.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Hunt dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hunt feints a jab promting Munoz to slip. Hunt then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Munoz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hunt scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Hunt lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Hunt cracks the inside of Munoz's front leg.
Hunt lands with a kick to the temple. Munoz shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Munoz takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Hunt fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Munoz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hunt has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hunt lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hunt.

Both fighters circling a little - Hunt finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Hunt scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Hunt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hunt throws a shot from downtown. Munoz moves away and avoids it.

Hunt feints and as Munoz raises his hands in defense, Hunt changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hunt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jason Hunt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Munoz will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Hunt throws a front kick that sends Munoz stumbling back into the cage.

Hunt closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Munoz quickly recovers to half guard.
Hunt tries to stand but can't do so whilst Munoz controls his leg.

and Hunt counters with a nice low kick that buckles Munoz's knee momentarily.

Hunt throws a leg kick which misses Munoz's front leg but catches the back leg as Munoz tries to avoid it.

and Hunt counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Munoz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hunt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Munoz is tightening it up a little... Hunt has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hunt reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hunt taps out! nice BJJ there by Munoz!
