Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick MacTavish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Smash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MacTavish moves into the clinch.

MacTavish has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Smash is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for MacTavish.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smash really doesn't want to stay on the ground with MacTavish. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Smash is trying to move to mount but MacTavish reverses beautifully and ends up in Smash's guard.

Smash clinches up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Smash's face as he tries to break the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Smash takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Smash is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
MacTavish tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smash just stands there and leans against the cage.

Patrick MacTavish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Smash.

Smash drops down looking for an ankle pick but MacTavish pulls his leg out and moves away.
MacTavish tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Smash manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Smash feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
MacTavish is refusing to be controlled, as Smash sits in half guard.
MacTavish wants to get back to his feet.

MacTavish is in trouble now - Smash has advanced to mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Joe Smash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
