Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnatan Bruks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Renton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnatan Bruks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Renton! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Bruks misses. Bruks looks to throw the jab but Renton is out of range. Bruks throws a series of punches but Renton avoids them all with ease. Bruks looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Renton shoots in for a takedown but Bruks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bruks throws a right hand that Renton ducks under and follows up with a left that Renton also avoids with ease. Bruks throws a jab but it's blocked by Renton. Renton gets a takedown into half guard. Bruks has hold of Renton's hands but Renton slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Renton controlling the pace. Renton tries to pass to full mount but Bruks defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Renton thows a huge punch but Bruks dodges it nicely.
Renton is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Renton fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Renton controlling the pace for now. Bruks wants to control but Renton is having none of it. Renton throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Bruks holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Renton tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Renton sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Renton prevents Bruks from getting the reversal. Renton jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Bruks is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Bruks and Renton has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Bruks manages to get back to half guard. Bruks is looking to control Renton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bruks avoid being mounted? Renton slips a nice elbow through Bruks's hands, connecting with Bruks's forehead. Renton working over Bruks with some ground and pound. Bruks looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Renton. Renton has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Bruks works to full guard. Rentonis looking to pass into half guard but Bruks pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bruks is in guard. Renton wants to sweep but no luck. Renton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Renton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Renton is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Renton can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Bruks stopping the sweep attempt from Renton.
Mark Renton has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Bruks shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Renton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bruks.
Renton looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Renton throws a strike but Bruks rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Renton dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Bruks throws a right and a left that both miss. Renton tries to clinch up but Bruks circles away and keeps his distance. Bruks misses with a straight left. A head kick misses from Bruks. A slow jab from Bruks misses its intended target. Johnatan Bruks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Renton drives through and clinches with Bruks against the cage.
Renton wants a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Renton has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bruks is trying to keep an underhook but Renton manages to get the takedown into half guard. Renton is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bruks has managed to free his arm - good work. Renton prevents Bruks from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Renton is trying to control. Bruks wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Renton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bruks's head. Bruks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Renton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Renton's back! Renton trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Bruks has the hooks in. Renton is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Renton turns into Bruks and is now in his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bruks preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bruks has control of Renton's left arm, preventing Renton from doing any damage. Bruks keeping moving, preventing Renton from controlling successfully.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mark Renton wasn't active enough on the ground. Renton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bruks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruks misses with a straight left. A head kick misses from Bruks. Renton avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bruks thows a body shot but no joy. A low kick from Bruks is predictable there and Renton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Renton works a leg free and moves into half guard. Renton passes to side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bruks is not content to let Renton control the position. Bruks is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Renton is controlling him well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Renton landing strikes. Bruks wants to get back to his feet but Renton drags him back down. Renton working the head and body with strikes. Renton looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Bruks is avoiding damage well.
Renton is trying to ground and pound but Bruks uses the momentary lack of control by Renton to regain half guard. Renton keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bruks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Renton. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Renton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Bruks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Bruks shoots and misses and Renton counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Well, if Renton is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Renton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Renton takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Renton is stalling here. Bruks is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Renton seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bruks has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Renton struggling a bit here. Renton tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Renton struggling a bit here. Renton tries to buck Bruks off but Bruks is having none of it. Bruks stands up. Bruks tries a head kick but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bruks waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Renton. Johnatan Bruks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bruks throws a jab when Renton was well out of range. Renton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Renton waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bruks. Bruks gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Renton counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bruks's guard now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bruks wants to get back to his feet but Renton is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mark Renton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Renton showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Renton's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Bruks keeping full guard, as Renton tries to pass. Renton stays in close to Bruks's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mark Renton. Bruks tries a low kick but Renton avoids it. Johnatan Bruks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Renton throws a chopping leg kick but Bruks manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Bruks looks to land a right hand but Renton moved out of range. Bruks tries to bum rush Renton with a series of wild strikes but Renton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Renton has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bruks is trying to break free. Renton tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bruks drops down looking for an ankle pick but Renton pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnatan Bruks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Renton drives through with a takedown into guard. Renton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Bruks throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Renton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Renton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
