Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hector Lombard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hector Lombard could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alex Johnson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hector Lombard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lombard's guard.
Lombard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well.
Johnson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lombard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Johnson has Lombard in his guard.
Lombard tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.
Lombard trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.
Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lombard is aware though and is defending well.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lombard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lombard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lombard gets to his feet. Johnson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lombard wants to clinch but Johnson slips to the side
and Johnson counters with a single leg into guard. Lombard didn't expect that.
Lombard wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.
Johnson tries to stand but Lombard is controlling from the bottom.
Johnson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lombard is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lombard has escaped and now he's on top!
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Lombard is having none of it.

Lombard wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Lombard is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Johnson wants to sweep but no luck.

Johnson has a closed guard, preventing Lombard from standing up.
Johnson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Lombard has passed into half guard!
Johnson is looking for a sweep. Lombard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lombard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Lombard escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Lombard!
Johnson is looking for a sweep.
Lombard thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lombard is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lombard throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Lombard prevents Johnson from escaping the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lombard in side control, throwing shots but Johnson defends.
Johnson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lombard.
Johnson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Lombard has control of an arm but Johnson manages to advance to Lombard's back!
Lombard trying to control the hands but Johnson won't let him.
Johnson looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Lombard is controlling Johnson 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

A close round but Alex Johnson will probably get the nod.

Lombard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lombard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hector Lombard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Lombard to the floor! Johnson dives in looking for the finish!
Lombard is rocked!
It looks like Hector Lombard has been cut.
Johnson is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Lombard reverses the position - he's now on top in Johnson's guard.
Oh Lombard is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lombard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Johnson controlling Lombard's posture.
Lombard seems to have got his legs back now.
Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lombard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lombard passes into side control.
Lombard wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.
Johnson dodges the ground and pound from Lombard.
Johnson is not content to let Lombard control the position.
Johnson tries to buck Lombard off but Lombard is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lombard throws a strike aimed at the side of Johnson's head but Johnson avoids it well.
Lombard stands up.
Johnson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lombard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Johnson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lombard is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Johnson.
Lombard is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Johnson is trying to escape and Lombard transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Johnson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lombard! Very nice indeed!
