Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kal El (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jebediah Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reed has chosen Eighties as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kal El!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jebediah Reed!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El throws a left and a right that both miss

and Reed counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
El trying to control here.
Reed missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Reed is trying to control the action in half guard but El is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
El trying to control but Reed postures up.
El flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
El wants to get back to his feet.

El manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Reed takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Reed gets in close and instigates a clinch.
El is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
El throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
El misses with a body punch.
Reed stalling the fight.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for El.

A body shot lands from Reed.
Reed taking a breather.

Reed has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed El clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Reed missing with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
El is in bad spot here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
El is trying to remain composed but Reed is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
Reed trying to control momentarily.
El trying to control the hands but Reed won't let him.
El turns into Reed and is now in his guard.
Reed wants to sweep but no luck.

Reed looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Reed avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Reed is working an open guard so El takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
El misses the shot to the body.
El loads up on a big right hand but Reed slips the punch.
El looks to score with a jab to the body but Reed is just out of range.
Reed fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but El is out of range.
El misses with an uppercut
and Reed makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kal El seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reed throws a right hand that misses
and El connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
El misses with an uppercut
and Reed counters with a one-two to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reed. El does a little dance to reset his feet.
Reed misses with an uppercut
and El counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Reed shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reed thows a huge punch but El dodges it nicely.

Reed is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, El has managed to free his arm - good work.
El wants to get back to his feet.
Reed has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Well, if Reed is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Reed prevents El from standing back up.
Reed trying to control the action but El is working from the bottom.
El is trying to stand.

Reed is sneakily working for an arm triangle but El sees it coming and defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
El is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Reed is trying to control the action in half guard but El is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Reed blocks the strikes from El.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Reed seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but El does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
El is looking to control Reed's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can El avoid being mounted?
Reed prevents El from improving his position.
El has hold of Reed's hands but Reed slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Reed is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. El doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reed.
El wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jebediah Reed dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A shot to the body from Reed misses
and El counters with a left to the body.
El rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Reed counters with a lovely straight right hand!
El swings widly with a right hand

and Reed counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
El will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
El keeping moving, preventing Reed from controlling successfully.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Reed thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
El wants to stand and escape but Reed is having none of it.
Jebediah Reed has got the better of the ground game so far.
El trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Reed tries to free his leg and advance position but El is retaining full guard.
Reed stops El from standing up.
Reed landing with the ground and pound.
El on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if El tries to get out of the position.
Reed throws a big right hand that misses.
El wants to get back to his feet but Reed is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Reed works a leg free and moves into half guard.
El is trying to stand back up but Reed is controlling him
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
El is trying to get back to full guard.

Reed is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, El has managed to free his arm - good work.
Reed throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Reed working the head and body with strikes.
Reed missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Reed works his way into side control.
Reed tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Reed is trying to get an arm triangle but El is defending well.
Reed scores with punches from side control.
El is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
El is trying to control Reed's posture but Reed avoids it.

Reed is working to tighten is grip on El's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. El has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Reed is really squeezing tight and eventually El passes out! Reed breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
