Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Daw!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daw tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Copley counters with a shoot takedown. Daw fights it but they end up in guard.

Copley postures up in Daw's guard and throws a big left but Daw blocks it.

We're going to have a standup here because Doug Copley wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Copley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Copley changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Daw fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Steve Daw is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fight stays on the outside here - Copley looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Copley counters with a left and a right that stings Daw.
Daw closes the distance looking to clinch

and Copley counters with a single leg into guard. Daw didn't expect that.
Copley thows a big elbow that misses.

Copley is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Daw is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Daw has escaped and now he's on top!

Copley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Daw defends well.

Copley wants to sweep here but Daw controlling him for the moment.

Daw gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Daw looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Copley moves out of range as Daw strikes.
Copley shoots for a double leg takedown but Daw sprawls well. He's pushed Copley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Copley counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Daw blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Copley takes an elbow to the temple.

It looks like Doug Copley has been cut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Daw takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Copley has clasped his hands together around Daw's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Daw is trying to buck Copley off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Copley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Daw, who protects the arm well.
Daw pushes Copley away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Copley gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Copley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Daw has escaped the position, nice work there.
Daw defending against the ground and pound.
Copley tries to score with some ground and pound. Daw controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Copley is working to tighten is grip on Daw's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Daw has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Copley is really squeezing tight and eventually Daw passes out! Copley breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
