Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edward Ludczynsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Ovaltrades! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ovaltrades misses with a takedown and Ludczynsky decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ovaltrades's guard. Ovaltrades keeping moving, preventing Ludczynsky from controlling successfully. Ludczynsky has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ovaltrades has an active guard here but Ludczynsky has managed to pass into half guard.
Ovaltrades is looking to improve his position.
Ovaltrades throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Ludczynsky tries to pass to full mount but Ovaltrades defends it. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ludczynsky lands a nice short elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ovaltrades tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ludczynsky has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Ludczynsky trying to control but Ovaltrades is having none of it. Ovaltrades is trying to escape the mount.
Ludczynsky looking to finish Ovaltrades with some ground and pound. This is bad for Ovaltrades! Ludczynsky can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ovaltrades is looking to escape. Ludczynsky is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ovaltrades is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ovaltrades tries to hold on but Ludczynsky pushes him away. Ludczynsky trying to control but Ovaltrades is having none of it. Ludczynsky blocks Ovaltrades's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Ludczynsky trying to control but Ovaltrades is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Ovaltrades bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Ludczynsky looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ludczynsky can't keep his opponent in guard - Ovaltrades advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ovaltrades missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ludczynsky is trying is best to control the position here. Ovaltrades wants to control but Ludczynsky is keeping him busy. Ludczynsky is looking for a sweep. Ovaltrades is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ovaltrades sitting and controlling from the half guard. Ludczynsky looking for submissions off his back. Ovaltrades stalling. Ludczynsky trying to hold on to Ovaltrades's head to control him but Ovaltrades postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jack Ovaltrades. Ludczynsky wants to clinch and Ovaltrades counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ludczynsky's guard now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Edward Ludczynsky will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ovaltrades shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ludczynsky's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ovaltrades is pushing down on Ludczynsky's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ludczynsky is fighting to maintain full guard but Ovaltrades has managed to sneak the leg through. Ovaltrades is looking for a kimura here.
Ludczynsky manages to escape and get back to his feet! Ludczynsky tries to clinch up but Ovaltrades circles away and keeps his distance. Jack Ovaltrades is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ludczynsky shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ovaltrades is trying to defend but Ludczynsky finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Ludczynsky not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ovaltrades keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ovaltrades regains full guard. Nicely done. Ludczynsky avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Ludczynsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Ovaltrades is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ludczynsky controls from within his opponent's guard. Ovaltrades manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ludczynsky manages to get himself to full guard.
Ovaltrades thows a big elbow that misses. Ovaltrades distracts Ludczynsky with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Ovaltrades trying to control the position from guard on top but Ludczynsky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ludczynsky being controlled here, momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ludczynsky is trying to keep Ovaltrades in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ovaltrades trying to control the position from guard on top but Ludczynsky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ludczynsky knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ovaltrades on the ground. Ovaltrades not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Ovaltrades hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ludczynsky tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ovaltrades manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ovaltrades gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Ovaltrades keeping moving, preventing Ludczynsky from controlling successfully. Ovaltrades lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ludczynsky! Ovaltrades raining down shots from the mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ovaltrades jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ludczynsky manages to avoid the submission attempt. Ovaltrades has an Americana. Ludczynsky didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Ovaltrades is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Ovaltrades hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
