Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spencer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ride Of The Valkyries - Richard Wagner. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Andersson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Spencer! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spencer dives in and scores a takedown into Andersson's guard. Andersson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Spencer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Andersson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Spencer, into his guard. Spencer is looking for a triangle but Andersson pushes his legs off easily.
Andersson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Spencer's guard. Andersson throwing strikes but missing. Andersson trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Spencer manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Andersson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Spencer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spencer looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spencer with a flurry of punches that miss. Andersson controls Spencer momentarily but Spencer frees himself. Spencer trying to control the position from guard on top but Andersson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Andersson trying to keep a closed guard but Spencer is proving a slippery customer.
Andersson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spencer manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Spencer looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Andersson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Spencer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Spencer is pulling down on Andersson's head. It's preventing any offense from Andersson, at least for the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Andersson misses with a right hand and Spencer counters with a stiff right hand. Spencer throws a sloppy body shot
and Andersson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Andersson misses with a left hand and Spencer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Andersson's guard now. Spencer working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Spencer tries to free his leg and advance position but Andersson is retaining full guard. Spencer drops back, looking for a kneebar! Andersson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Andersson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Andersson! Andersson cracks Spencer with a big right hand but Spencer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spencer gets back to half guard. Andersson uses his free foot to push down on Spencer's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Spencer. Andersson landing punches. Spencer is squirming around, avoiding Andersson's attempts to control the action. Spencer tries to reverse the position but Andersson maintains control. Andersson trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Andersson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Andersson wants to control the pace but Spencer is squirming around nicely. Andersson can't control as he wanted to and Spencer manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Andersson works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Andersson dominating with strikes here. Andersson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Andersson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Andersson looking to control but Spencer is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Andersson with shots to the head and body - Spencer looks very uncomfortable down there.
Spencer is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Spencer sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Spencer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Andersson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Andersson's back! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spencer is looking for the choke from the back position but Andersson is controlling his hands well. Spencer has the hooks in. Andersson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Frank Andersson will probably get the nod. That's time! Andersson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Andersson misses with a left hand and Spencer counters with a takedown into side control. Spencer misses with an attempted head punch from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Andersson is looking to regain half guard here but Spencer keeps moving and retains side control. Mark Spencer has got the better of the ground game so far. Spencer throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Spencer throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Andersson on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Andersson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Spencer trying to control the position but Andersson is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andersson is looking to reverse the position. Spencer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Andersson keeps working. Sloppy strikes there by Spencer. Spencer in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Andersson tries to buck Spencer off but Spencer is having none of it. Andersson is working hard here to advance position. Spencer landing a few strikes. Andersson is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Andersson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Andersson regains half guard. Spencer is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Andersson reverses the position - he's now on top in Spencer's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Spencer is on top in guard.
Spencer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Spencer trying to control the position from guard on top but Andersson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Spencer is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Andersson looking for a sweep. Not yet Andersson, not yet.

Spencer working over Andersson with some ground and pound. Andersson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Andersson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Andersson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Spencer!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer tries to lock up and control but Andersson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Spencer takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Andersson looking to control but Spencer is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Spencer manages to regain half guard. Good work. Spencer trying to control from the bottom.
Andersson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Spencer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Spencer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Spencer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Andersson misses with a right hand and Spencer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Andersson won't be happy with that. Spencer cracks Andersson with a big elbow. Andersson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Spencer goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Andersson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Spencer but great work by Andersson. Andersson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Spencer! Spencer wants to control but Andersson is having none of it. Andersson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Spencer wants to hold on but Andersson pushes him away. Andersson prevents Spencer from getting the reversal.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Spencer regains half guard. Spencer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Andersson. Spencer is staying active underneath Andersson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Frank Andersson. Spencer misses with a telegraphed body shot
enabling Andersson to counter with a crisp jab. Andersson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Mark Spencer has been cut. Andersson misses with a looping right. Frank Andersson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spencer misses with a shot to the body and Andersson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Andersson lands with an overhand left. Spencer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Andersson misses with an uppercut.

Andersson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Spencer stopping the sweep attempt from Andersson. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Andersson keeping moving, preventing Spencer from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Spencer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Spencer lands in his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Mark Spencer. I think Spencer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
