Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Double Rainbow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Carrpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathew Carrpenter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Double Rainbow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mathew Carrpenter!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carrpenter tries to keep at a distance but Rainbow has taken the fight into the clinch.
Carrpenter wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Carrpenter tries to break the clinch but Rainbow is controlling the position.
Carrpenter tries to break the clinch but Rainbow is controlling the position.

Rainbow drags the fight down to the ground.
Carrpenter thows a big elbow that misses.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rainbow is on top in guard.
Rainbow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carrpenter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rainbow is stalling in the full guard.
Carrpenter wants to get back to his feet but Rainbow is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rainbow showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Carrpenter wants to stand but Rainbow is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rainbow passes Carrpenter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rainbow is taking a breather. Carrpenter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Carrpenter is trying to stand up here but Rainbow is controlling him well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Carrpenter is trying to stand back up but Rainbow is controlling him
Carrpenter looks gassed!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Double Rainbow just wasn't active enough.
Carrpenter swinging wildly here.
Carrpenter misses with a head kick.
Rainbow misses with a double jab.
Carrpenter misses with a straight right.
Rainbow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mathew Carrpenter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rainbow tries to work over Carrpenter's front leg with a kick but Carrpenter checks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carrpenter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rainbow's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rainbow seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carrpenter for as long as he can get away with.
Carrpenter wants to stand up but Rainbow is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Double Rainbow wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Rainbow darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rainbow uses his free foot to push down on Carrpenter's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Carrpenter.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rainbow looking to control and managing it successfully.
Rainbow's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Double Rainbow.

Rainbow looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rainbow looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Double Rainbow dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rainbow gets a takedown into half guard.
Carrpenter wants to get back to his feet.
Rainbow passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carrpenter!
Rainbow sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Carrpenter is breathing heavily.
Carrpenter is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Carrpenter is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Rainbow locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Carrpenter is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Double Rainbow!
