The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buck looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dennis with a poor takedown

and Buck counters with a takedown into side control.

Buck has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Dennis slips a jab and a cross from Buck.
Dennis just misses with a punch to the body.
Dennis fails with the takedown

and Buck counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Buck.
Buck lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Buck presses Dennis against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Buck escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dennis tries for a takedown but Buck circles away easily
and Buck connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Dennis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Buck counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Dennis has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Buck counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Buck tries to stand but Dennis is controlling from the bottom.

Dennis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Buck!

Dennis sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Buck is bucking up trying to escape but Dennis cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Dennis unloads with some shots from mount but Buck bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dennis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Buck is looking to escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Poor strikes thrown by Dennis there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Dennis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Buck is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dennis throws a strike but Buck avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Dennis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Buck is trying to control the position but Dennis postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Buck wants to stand up but Dennis has a hold of him and won't allow it.
