Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Westfall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeffrey Dahmer! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dahmer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dahmer throws a series of punches but Westfall avoids them all with ease. Dahmer throws a nice looking combination but Westfall bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Westfall gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dahmer counters with a left and a right that stings Westfall.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dahmer throws a right and a left that Westfall avoids nicely. Jeffrey Dahmer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Westfall fails with the takedown and Westfall takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dahmer misses with a wild combination.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Westfall scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dahmer tries to kick Westfall off but Westfall keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Westfall connects with a nice short shot to Dahmer's temple. Dahmer is looking to escape. Westfall is nestled in close to Dahmer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dahmer has hold of Westfall's hands but Westfall slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Westfall lands a nice short elbow. Westfall stops Dahmer from getting back to his feet.
Westfall takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dahmer is trying to stand back up but Westfall is controlling him
Westfall lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dahmer is rocked! Dahmer is looking to escape. Westfall passes to full mount! Westfall pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Westfall connects with a bit shot that sees Dahmer covering up! More strikes from Westfall and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Westfall is our winner by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Westfall!
