Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sam Hitz!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawke looks to land a combination but Hitz avoids it well.
Hitz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hitz scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hitz moves into range and connects with a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawke misses with a hook
and Hitz counters with a left and a right that stings Hawke.

Hitz gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hawke.
Hawke uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hitz.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Hawke cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hitz throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hawke counters with a three punch combo that has Hitz backing up. Hitz nods at Hawke to acknowledge the strikes.
Hawke throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hitz throws a nice looking combination but Hawke bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Hitz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A slow jab from Hitz misses its intended target.
Hitz misses with a body shot.
Hitz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hawke connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Hitz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round but I would say that Nathan Hawke will probably get the nod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hitz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hitz tries to score with some ground and pound. Hawke controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Hawke is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hitz is controlling him well.

Hawke parries the strikes from Hitz easily there. Hitz is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hawke to escape.

Hitz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hawke is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hawke wants to get back to his feet but Hitz drags him back down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Hitz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Hawke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Hawke really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Hawke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nathan Hawke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawke lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hitz circles away quickly and effectively.

Hitz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hawke napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hawke is pushing Hitz's head away, looking to escape. Hitz manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hawke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hitz on the ground.
Hitz lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hawke down.

Hitz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawke, who protects the arm well.
