Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wesley Loose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Great!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loose throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Great counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Great manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Loose on his heels. He'll look to pass Loose's guard now, I'm sure.

Loose has his foot on Great's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Great works his way back into a safe position though.
Loose avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Great drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Loose manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Great has Loose in his guard.
Great has a closed guard, preventing Loose from standing up.

Great is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Loose is aware though and is defending well.
Loose looking to pass the guard.

Loose drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Great dives on top into guard.

Great thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Great trying to control the position from guard on top but Loose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Great drops back looking for a leg! Loose is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Loose manages to kick Great off! Great jumps back into Loose's guard.

Loose is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Great postures up in Loose's guard and throws a big left but Loose blocks it.
Great trying to control but Loose is working from the bottom.

Great drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Great jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Great looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Loose is trying to control the position from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Loose has his foot on Great's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Great works his way back into a safe position though.

Loose looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Great passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Loose is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Loose is breathing heavily.

Great is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Loose is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Great wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Loose, who protects the arm well.
Loose tries to bench press Great off him but Great keeps the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Great goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Loose has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Great but great work by Loose.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Great regains half guard.
Great is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Loose's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Loose's back!

Great looking to break Loose's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Loose remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Great will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Loose tries to roll but Great sticks to his back.

Great is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Loose is defending well though. Great let's go of the attempt for now.
Great missing with punches from the back.
Loose has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Great.
Loose breaks Great's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nate Great dominated that round.
That's time! Loose's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Great counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Loose misses with a double jab
and Great counters with a nice uppercut.
Great keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Great dodges the punch combination from Loose.
Loose swings away with a body shot that misses
and Great counters with a nice body shot.
Loose misses with a wild body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Loose tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Great counters with a nice body shot.
Loose misses the shot to the body.
Loose closes the distance but Great moves to the side
and Great counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A big right from Loose misses.
Loose waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Great.
Loose throws a lazy uppercut
and Great counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Loose throws a body punch but Great moves out of range.
Loose falls off balance throwing a combination

and Great counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Great.

Great has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Loose uses from the top position.

Loose has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Great to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Loose is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Great pulls down on the head and he's put Loose to sleep! This one is all over!
