Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Archie Malate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malate has chosen Wasakan as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Archie Malate! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Malate to the mat! Malate manages to get full guard. Malate wants to control the position but Hardy says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Hardy not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hardy not landing any meaningful shots this time. Malate keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Hardy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hardy lands a nice short elbow. Malate keeping moving, preventing Hardy from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malate gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hardy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hardy lands a big shot. Hardy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hardy is working Malate over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hardy is in close to Malate's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hardy distracts Malate with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hardy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Malate is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hardy, into his guard. Malate wants to stand but Hardy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Malate tries to free his leg and advance position but Hardy is retaining full guard. Malate is breathing heavily. Hardy has his foot on Malate's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malate works his way back into a safe position though. Malate is trying to maintain the position but Hardy is very close to passing his half guard.
